Biking in Bakersfield

Welcome to Bakersfield's Bike Trails

The City of Bakersfield is committed to providing the community with a safe and exciting bicycling experience. Bicycling offers a tremendous amount of benefits that include, but are not limited to, providing a great way to commute to destinations, promoting good health, saving money, and reducing pollution.

To promote bicycling as an active mode of transportation, the City has created a bicycle transportation network that interconnects miles of bike paths, lanes, and routes. Riders can embark upon a journey and meander through various neighborhoods and commercial districts while gaining a new perspective of Bakersfield. Essentially, riders can access nearly all areas within Bakersfield by using designated routes. However, bicycling is more than just creating infrastructure improvements. There are essential elements across five categories – known as the Five E’s – that are consistent in making great places for bicycling. Please explore this website for additional information.

It is time to hit the trails! Grab your bicycle and helmet – whether it is commuting to work or taking a bicycle ride with friends, you will discover a challenging and rewarding experience.
