Medical Provider Network:
California law requires the City of Bakersfield to provide and pay for medical treatment if you sustain an injury or illness arising out of and in the course of your employment. The City has chosen to provide this medical care by using a Workers’ Compensation Physician Network called a Medical Provider Network (MPN).

Program
Program Overview: The City's Injury & Illness
Prevention Program (IIPP) provides the foundation from which each department
designs its safety program to address its unique activities. All safety and
health policies and procedures, both Citywide and departmental, are to be
carefully observed so that employee accidents and injuries can be eliminated or
kept to a minimum.
Hazard Communication
Program
Program Overview: The purpose of this program is to protect
all City of Bakersfield employees from the harmful effects of exposure to
hazardous materials used in the workplace. This program has been developed to
comply with Cal-OSHA General Industry Safety order #5194 - Hazard Communication
Standard.
Confined Space Entry Program
Program
Overview: The purpose of this program is to identify confined spaces, prohibit
unauthorized entry, establish procedures for authorized entry and work within
confined spaces, and to comply with Cal-OSHA's General Industry Safety Order
(GISO) #5157.
