City staff and Mayor Karen Goh joined a delegation from Bakersfield and Kern County at the state capitol this week to discuss regional economic development activities with state leaders.
City Manager’s Office staff, Kern County government officials, Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce staff and representatives from Tejon Ranch met with Senators Shannon Grove and Melissa Hurtado, as well as Assembly Members Vince Fong and Rudy Salas on several important economic development initiatives.
The group also met with Chief Economic and Business Advisor to the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development, Lenny Mendonca, to discuss several economic development opportunities in Bakersfield and the region.
All of the meetings were very positive and productive. We thank our hosts at the capitol for meeting with us!
