Nighttime lane closures have been scheduled for the two inside lanes on both northbound and southbound State Route 99 from Sunday, September 8 through Thursday, September 12, between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., each night.
Southbound closures will extend from California Avenue to just south of State Route 58. Northbound closures will be in place from Ming Avenue to just north of State Route 58. One lane will remain open in each direction while work is underway. All lanes will re-open in time for the morning commute.
This work is part of Centennial Corridor Phase 3, which includes widening the westbound State Route 58 bridge across State Route 99. The closures are needed to install shoring for bridge column footings within the freeway median.
The contractor also plans to close Real Road between Stockdale Highway and Elcia Drive each night, Sunday through Thursday, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Real Road will be open to daytime traffic throughout the week. The nighttime closures are needed to install shoring for the new bridge that will cross Real Road.
This work may be cancelled and rescheduled without notice due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Please slow down and watch for construction workers and equipment while driving through the area. The Thomas Roads Improvement Program apologizes for any inconvenience this work may cause the traveling public.
