The City of Bakersfield is pleased to announce the unveiling of a new brand identity for the City, including a new logo and tagline, “The Sound of Something Better.”
More than two years ago, the City joined a group of private businesses and other local agencies to take part in a regional branding effort in order to establish a positive and modern external brand designed to promote Bakersfield and the region as a great place to live, work, do business and visit.
Many other cities and regions throughout California and beyond utilize branding as a key economic development tool to attract new businesses and enhance the quality of life for its residents. Through several months of research and analysis, a cohesive regional approach to branding was developed for Bakersfield and Kern County.
This project was the result of an unprecedented partnership between the City, the County of Kern, Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce, Kern Economic Development Corporation and 15 local businesses.
The new brand and logo reflect not only the proud history of Bakersfield, but also the best aspects of the City as we move forward into a new era.
The City of Bakersfield is excited about this new look as there are many things for us to be proud of and promote. This new brand represents an important step in telling our story to the world.
