Christopher Boyle joined the City of Bakersfield on October 28 as the City’s new Development Services Director. Chris brings more than 15 years of planning experience to the Development Services Department, the last six years as the Planning Manager of the City of Madera.
Chris brings to the City a passion for the craft of urban land use planning, a focus on delivering exemplary customer service to all citizens, and an emphasis on providing responsive governance that results in the overall betterment of the community. He will be tasked with guiding Development Services efforts in the ongoing update of the City’s General Plan, with enhancing economic development efforts, including downtown revitalization, and in the multifaceted implementation of the Public Safety and Vital Services measure. He will oversee the City’s Planning, Building and Economic & Community Development divisions.
He has been married to his wife Lorraine for eight years. Together, they have six children and seven grandchildren. He and Lorraine are very excited to be moving to Bakersfield and becoming a part of the “Sound of Something Better.”
