Holiday Grease Collection Returns for City Residents

Bring used cooking oil and grease for disposal

The City of Bakersfield invites residents to take advantage of the 2019 Holiday Grease Collection event. Disposing of used cooking oil and grease down their drain can result in clogged pipes, causing backups. Instead, residents can stop by either of the City’s Holiday Grease Collection locations and dispose of used oil and grease in a safe and environmentally friendly way.

Residents are asked to collect their used cooking oil and grease in sealed containers before dropping it off at the event. There is no charge to dispose of used cooking oil and grease at the event.

The 2019 Holiday Grease Collection event kicks off Monday, December 2 and ends Friday, January 10.

Cooking oil and grease drop-off locations:
- City of Bakersfield Wastewater Treatment Plant 3, 6901 McCutchen Road
- North of the River Sanitation District Main Office, 204 Universe Avenue

Residents may drop off their used cooking oil and grease at those locations Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

See the flyer (attached below in PDF format) for more information and maps to the two locations.

The event is closed on December 24 and 25, as well as December 31 and January 1, 2020.
