Traffic Control Planned for Real Road

Nighttime closures on State Route 99 this week

Traffic control will be needed on Real Road between Stockdale Highway and Elcia Drive on Wednesday, June 3, while the contractor completes the removal of bridge falsework. Only one lane will be available to traffic so flagging personnel will need to stop cars for up to five minutes at a time between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes or allow sufficient travel time to reach their destinations if they must travel through this section of Real Road while work is underway. Tonight’s closure for Real Road has been cancelled.

Nighttime lane closures will be in effect Wednesday, June 3 and Thursday, June 4 on northbound and southbound State Route 99 near Ming Avenue. The two inside lanes in both directions are expected to be closed between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. to allow for the construction of median barrier. One lane will remain open to traffic while work is underway.

The northbound lanes on State Route 99 between Ming Avenue and Stockdale Highway will be closed during nighttime hours on Sunday, June 7 and Monday June 8. All northbound lanes are expected to be closed between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., both nights. The closures are needed for work on a new bridge column within the median.

This schedule may be changed without notice due to unforeseen circumstances. Please slow down and pay attention to construction and detour signage while driving through these areas. The Thomas Roads Improvement Program apologizes for any inconvenience this work may cause the traveling public.
