Join the City of Bakersfield’s Economic and Community Development Department this week as we discuss the City’s Economic Opportunity Area (EOA) Incentive Program. The EOA program supports business growth, development, entrepreneurship and innovation within specific geographic areas of Bakersfield.
The Economic Opportunity Area Incentive Program offers incentives to encourage business growth with financial assistance, such as grants and development assistance, for a business to reduce their costs of opening or expanding within an EOA.
The EOA Incentive Program was created to encourage the redevelopment of vacant property or buildings with grants for site and building improvements, business expansion or moving costs, development fees or costs of required public improvement projects.
The seven Economic Opportunity Areas are: (1) Downtown Bakersfield, (2) Bakersfield Airport/Union Avenue corridor, (3) Highway 58/Mt. Vernon corridor, (4) 34th Street Corridor, (5) East Hills Mall area, (6) Old Town Kern, and (7) Southeast Bakersfield.
