LED Conversion Project to Begin Next Week

Contractor will start upgrades Monday, Oct. 26

On Monday, October 26, a contractor for the City of Bakersfield will begin a project to convert more than 2,000 light fixtures at City-operated parks and other facilities to new LED fixtures.

Advanced Lighting Services will be upgrading the fixtures at The Park at River Walk, the 18th & Eye Streets parking garage and the underground parking garage at City Hall North (1600 Truxtun Avenue) as part of Phase I of this project, starting Monday.

The second phase will include 12 other parks and facilities.

This project is expected to save the City more than 100,000 in estimated annual energy costs and improve lighting at these locations.
