City Councilmembers Officially Installed

Two newly-elected members added

Three members of the Bakersfield City Council were officially installed at the Council meeting on Wednesday, December 16 following November's election.

Newly-elected Ward 1 Councilmember Eric Arias joined re-elected Councilmembers Andrae Gonzales (Ward 2) and Bruce Freeman (Ward 5) during Wednesday's ceremony.

Arias was elected in November, replacing outgoing Councilmember Willie Rivera.

Patty Gray (Ward 6), who was elected to replace outgoing Councilmember Jacquie Sullivan, was not in attendance due to illness. Gray will be sworn-in at a later, yet to be determined date.

Mayor Karen Goh, who was re-elected in the primary held in March, will be officially sworn-in to her office in a separate meeting on Jan. 5, 2021.
